HDFC Bank shares rose for a second consecutive session on Wednesday, gaining 0.82 per cent to trade at ₹731.45 on the NSE by 11.49 am, up ₹5.95 from Tuesday’s close of ₹725.50. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹741.30 before paring gains, with a session low of ₹719.25 and an open at ₹722.80.

HDFC Bank shares recover 3.72% in two sessions

The two-day rally has lifted the stock nearly 3.72 per cent from Monday’s close of ₹700.00, recovering further ground from the 52-week low of ₹669.20 recorded just last week on October 28. Total market capitalisation climbed to ₹11,28,803.74 crore, with traded volume surging to 298.80 lakh shares worth ₹2,196.20 crore, nearly double Tuesday’s mid-session turnover of ₹1,051.91 crore. Deliverable quantity stood at 67.83 per cent.

Selling pressure persists despite price gains

Despite the price gain, selling pressure remained dominant at 81.17 per cent of total order quantity against buyers at just 18.83 per cent, pointing to continued supply-side resistance at higher levels. The P/E firmed to 13.98, with the adjusted figure at 13.78.

Bank Nifty faces resistance at 55,800–56,000

Bank Nifty opened below its previous close near 55,485 but attracted buying interest early, maintaining its positive bias. Resistance is seen at 55,800–56,000, with support at 55,200–55,000.

The stock is down 26.21 per cent year-to-date against the Nifty 50’s 9.01 per cent decline, with a one-week return of 6.72 per cent.
