The Economic Times daily newspaper is available online now. Read Today's Paper Stocks in news: Paytm, Tata Consumer, Dalmia Bharat, REC and DCM ShriramBy Kumar Gaurav, ETMarkets.comLast Updated: Oct 27, 2026, 06:00:00 AM ISTSynopsis

Indian equity markets showed recovery with a rise in NSE Nifty 50, ending a four-session losing streak. Several companies reported their September-quarter earnings, highlighting varying financial performances. Paytm experienced significant profit growth, while Dalmia Bharat reported a net loss due to an exceptional charge. Defence stocks are also in focus following government procurement approvals. Investors continue to track earnings reports and related developments in the market.

Indian equity markets staged a recovery on Monday, snapping a four-session losing streak as the benchmark NSE Nifty 50 rose 153 points, or 0.68%, to close at 22,753.

A sustained move above the 20-day exponential moving average (EMA), placed at 22,820, Pabitro Mukherjee, Deputy Vice President–Research at Bajaj Broking, said, could signal a further pullback towards the 23,100–23,200 resistance zone. Failure to cross 22,820 could extend the consolidation seen over the previous two sessions within the 22,370–22,820 range.

Against this backdrop, several stocks including Paytm, Tata Consumer, Dalmia Bharat, REC, DCM Shriram, and others are likely to remain in focus on Tuesday, October 27, as investors track September-quarter earnings, fundraising plans, credit rating updates, regulatory developments and new business wins.

    Defence stocks

Defence and space technology-related stocks will be in focus after the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) to capital acquisition proposals worth around Rs 2.12 lakh crore for the armed forces.

According to the Ministry of Defence, around 82% of the approved procurements will be sourced from Indian industry, providing a push to defence modernisation and domestic procurement.
